April Mod-Podge

Had a few extra Pics from April I wasn't sure what to do with.  So this is a little of everything.   While spring cleaning found some sparklers from last year.

At a yard Sale earlier in the year I bought a box of scarfs.  I'm going to make a quilt 'someday' but for now I used some to make a summer skirt for my Bug.  Also Katana outgrew her crib. Time for a toddler bed.  She loved it instantly.  First night going to bed she automatically knelt down to say prayers. I could have died it was so precious.

Audrey Allen had her bridle shower at Becca's house in Rigby.  We were working on the Firth house so I was able to swing by.  Congrats!!!

Katana got to go with Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Calvin on a PBR run to Nampa so we could get the Firth house done and on the market.   She came home with a renewed interest in BULLS, referring to all horses as "Ye-roy", and new boots she has yet to take off.  Actually had to sleep with them the first couple days home. Apparently the weekend was a succuss. Thank you Mom and Dad for making memories with my daughter.  She loved every minute

Spring in Idaho = Lady bugs, Allergies, plugged sprinklers...the usual

Branding

Branding weekend--Got to the Kelly's the night before.  Just happened to be Lost River's District Recognition Banquet for Scouting.  Whatever free food.  Pam was surprised to receive the  Lost River District Award.--Basically just means she's awesome.
Uncle Scotty was also honored with Lost Rivers Award of Merit.
Katana liked Aunt Darla and went to her right away.  I guess she looks enough like Grandma Dixie Katana didn't mind.

Headed to the Kelly's Preston said "Now this medicine is dangerous for pregnant women and I don't want you getting run over or something so you can't help"  (Then what am I suppose to do?)  "oh well you can watch the kids and cook"  (oh thanks)
So while Preston got his fix of cow poop and yelling, I sat in the van with the kids.  Truth be told it's fun.  You BS with the girls, eat snacks, take cute pics of the kiddos, and still get dinner complete with Pams famous Soft Serve Cheesecake.

Rhett

Getting ready in the mornings is usually pretty easy because Katana loves doing 'pretty' things.  Hair, Nails, Shaving.  I had to get a picture of her ensemble because I got the whole thing (bow, dress, shoes) for roughly $1.50.  I LOVE BARGINS!

Waiting for everyone to get out of church Lane, Katana and Kylin ran circles around Preston for about 20 minutes--oh to have the energy of a child.

Attended Rhett's baby blessing.  He was blessed by his Grandfather Guy Twitchell.  Preston was asked to be in the circle which is always special.  Katana wasn't very happy about that though.  She wanted him to bring the baby back to her and sit down.
I'm kicking myself for not getting Rhett in his blessing outfit but here is the cutie a little later.

Conference

My little girl is growing up.  I love watching her try new things, gaining confidence from independence. Although 2 going on 13 can be challenging sometimes.  It's a fight to get dressed.  She wants to do it "me no" translation 'myself'.    She also insists on painting her own nails now --Dad can do it sometimes.  And she is all but potty trained..well depending on the day. After an accident one day I was reminding her how fun and good the potty  was and that diapers are yucky.  She then pointed at the potty said NO NO then grabbed a clean diaper hugging it to her chest said MINE and ran off with it.  Separation with such a personal article can be difficult I suppose.

After a few teaser weeks of warm weather we reverted back to Winter. We had to get creative with entertaining ourselves in the house after being able to run outside in the sun.

Conference is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  I love watching the prophets speak, sewing, relaxing, being with my family...no work, no pressure...2 days of uplifting messages and music.  I up-cycled an old hammock to a summer hat for Katana.  And after 2 unleavened attempts mastered McCarty's sour bread recipe   We ate it all that day.  yum!
Sour dough bread
½ cup start--Cup water--1¼ flour --let rest overnight
Add 2 cups flour--Tea salt--2 TB sugar--2 TB oil
Raise once---make round---when double add egg wash--bake 375 for 35 min.

Conference always helps me remember New Years resolutions or to be better at something.  We decided to work on our physical wellbeing.   Taking from D&C 88-89  --Cease to be idle; (Just watching Katana is a work out.)  cease to be unclean (We love us some bubbles); cease to find fault one with another;(who tought her that!!!) cease to sleep longer than is needful (open to interpretation)  retire to thy bed early (now your talk'n) that ye may not be weary; arise early (7:30 is sleeping in) that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated.
