Fun And Family.

Mom and Dad's house is slowly but surely coming along.  We've been to Arco a few times this summer to help with wiring and it's always a fun surprise to see what's new.  This week it's obvious.  THE ROOF.  The kids were dying to get on and help out.  Grandma couldn't watch.  Admittedly Zara made me a little nervous- she has no fear.  Aunt Juanita come with her rock paints for a craft project for the kids. Messy but a much needed distraction for all our "helpers"  A miracle calm day. Always a blessing to get something like this done.  

So I cut my hair again. The night before the family reunion... probably not the best time to try a new do. I had a hat all day and we were kind of roughing it with no facilities or water. My view in the morning was OH $h!t what did I do. Once I got home and played with it I ended up LOVING it. It was exactly what a wanted. Above mentioned....AMY O'Maley Family Reunion was in Mackay Idaho. Beautiful scenery. Corn hole. (I am so bad). Kid softball. Mom brought Snow cones--huge hit. Missed the Kelly's get together for Uncle Erve. Probably the last time we'll get together with him. Still grateful we went to the Amy one as it would be the last time we saw my Grandfather.

B-day to Z-day.

First part of June we were all jealous of Cart and Brendon who were vacationing and skydiving in Hawaii. A 10 year after mission incentive for staying active and married. His president like owns one of the islands. Timber and Trujillo crested the hill this year. Heo says he's not sure if he tripped over the edge or just slipped and is rolling back down his side but is determined to dust off at the bottom and keep going. Good lesson for all. Syringa called/texted them each 40 times. Denim put together a memory board and surprised the family with Breakfast. Well I'm 33. and Look at me. I've got it pretty great. For my birthday I want to sleep in...Instead I got the cutest little snuggle bug ever. We did be "lazy bones' and read for a while. I don't want to make dinner....hope your OK with cereal. Everyone eventually pitched in to make won tong and eggrolls. YUM I want to do something fun....bike ride....I changed my mind i want to watch a movie. I did get to attend a TOFW conference put on by our stake. It was fabulous. We cut plastic bags for yarn so they can make sleeping mats for the homeless. My favorite speaker was a lady who recently lost her son and husband in a car accident coming from an elders quorum party. Talk about resilient. Later that week I had a list in town to do and the kids still had pizza pie café coupons they earned at school for reading so we all went to lunch. The boys were trying to out do each other on how many they could eat. It's getting harder to fill them up.

Summer is awesome. Our backyard is beautiful. I love our trees, the swing set....We moved the "pool" to the front yard and the kids are in it everyday. all day. We try to schedule town trips for around noon on Tuesday and Thursdays so we can get free lunch in the park. On those days they also have something. Firefighters, cheerleaders Exc. Once it was Fish and Game. They had pelts and horns you could touch. They told how they had legally acquired the skins by roadkill or trapping them in season. When we got to a skunk pelt the boys start animatedly telling about how we had baby skunks at our house and "My Dad got his shot gun and blew them off the lawn in one shot BOOM!" ( they can't arrest you without evidence right? ) The next week was Health and Welfare with a car seat safety. Do you all have a booster and wear your seatbelts? (please say yes. everyone nod) My baby sister does cuz she's little. (Good political move. Answer a question with a statement in a related field but not the actual info wanted) Now a demo with a Barbie car and an egg that didn't have a seat belt on when it crashes into the wall. "Hey that's what Mace looked like last week when we got in our accident! (no no shhhh shhhh oh look at the time bye now.) I love how hard my kids play and how creative they can get when they lose their electronics.

I can't believe how old my daughter is. As an early birthday bonus she got her braces off. Entering the limbo of double digits but not yet a teen she asked for accessories and a Lucky doll. She got a necklace and bag from uncle Greg and earrings from me. Oh boy did she think she was fancy. While the boys had Fathers and Sons Campout We girls ate at Katanas pick KFC and used our movie gift cards from Christmas to go see Spirit Untamed in the theater. As part of her birthday package She was able to go with Kylin and the twins to 4-H camp in Wyoming. She won the overall sharpshooter award, made us all name bracelets and best of all had a blast. It was a good growing experience for both of us. When we went to pick her up we decided to make a day of it and went to Tautphaus Park Zoo. It was pretty good and less than $20 with my groupon.
