Balance Rock

For Memorial day we decided to visit a local historical landmark.  Balance Rock .so named because it is a 48 X 40 ft bolder resting on a 3 ft by 175 inch base  It's only about 45 min from our house.   A sight you can observe from the road or with an easy 100 yard hike take a picture at its base.

At the end of a hidden canyon the formation is surrounded by other rocks and caves and cliffs.  We played hide and seek and had snacks.  I was so nervous my kids were going to fall off one of the shear cliffs I was almost sick.  Being 12 weeks along a hike in the heat probably had something to do with it also .   All in all a fun day trip.  the kids loved it. Katana is a little mountain goat.

Announcements

Welcome McKayla Echo to the world April 24 @. 7 lbs. 21 in. She wraps up the JD Kelly fam. fantastically.

Baby McKenna arrived on May 19th weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces.  With 4 kids under 4 Malena will be the first to tell you how crazy they are. She is a sweet addition to the Dan Kelly Fam.

Talk about keeping up with the Jones's.  After my new nieces arrived 4 weeks apart I had to announce our pending addition as well.  BABY Preston Kelly #3 set to arrive just days before the opening of Starwars in December.   Not sure which my husband is more excited for.  Syringa volunteered to hold my hand at delivery if the dates clash.  This will give the Kellys and even dozen and the Amy's 13 grandchildren.

BOISE STAY-CATION

Preston quit Jerome Cheese and within hours had another job at Freedom Electric. We'd planned a vacation for later in the year but with a week layover between jobs we decided now would be best. For 2 days we toured Idahos capital city-Boise. The zoo was priority uno but day one was rainy. We headed to the capital building. Turned out to be the National Day of Prayer. Pretty cool cuz all the rooms were open to view and we got behind some grade school tour groups to hear some history.

We hit the mall for a while. Katana loved the Escalator. Got in trouble after sneaking out of TOT-land to go ride one all by her self. Gave me a heart attack the little stinker. Then off to a nice sit down dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Good food but with 400 items on the menu you worked up an appetite just reading threw it. The hotel I booked online had a pump problem with their pool. Thankfully we were able to get out of our reservation and find another one close with an INDOOR WORKING pool. A necessity for a vacation with kids.

Day 2- slightly overcast was ideal for walking around the zoo. Katana wore her Zebra shirt 2 days in a row in anticipation of seeing them. Their favorite animals were the jelly-fish and the monkeys which were very load and seemed to talk to the kids. Even Axel got the idea to yell OO OO EEE OOO and the monkeys would bark back. They thought that was hilarious. After our carousel ride we had to take the long way around the next exhibits to avoid it. Would have blown the budget riding in circles. I found an old wind up camera from our wedding I believe. Took that for pictures at the zoo. You should have seen some of the looks I got. "They still make those?"

A few days with Dad home was nice. Kids played and I got to cross off some HONEY DO list items. Construction wise the project was changing our tub to the kids bathroom and that old one to the construction bathroom. New green board and molding. I love to see progress.
