Octobers End

Early October my Crazy Awesome Brother Trujillo ran the St. George Marathon.  Way to go Bro!
Katana's been working on her ABC's.  This month she learned to write her name.  She can recognize all the Big letters and her families names, Good Job babe!  Below is our family portrait including #3 we're all getting excited for his arrival.

Jim and Ruela Southwick (Preston's Mom's Parents)  celebrated 60th wedding anniversary. I'm so grateful to have so many good examples of  Determination, Dedication, Devotion and Love.  As many as could make it--surprised them with a potluck lunch.   All 5 of their children were there. (oldest to youngest: Susan, Pamela, James (Jim), Micheal (Mike), and Eric.)  Afterwards we picked some apples in their orchard.  Enjoying the green grass and mild weather in October.

All month we celebrated Preston's birthday--a Date night here, a randomly bought gift there.  It just made us think of him and show our appreciation that much more.   Happy 29th to the best Husband and father and friend in the world.    And lastly a quick pic of Axel's first black eye. His rideable giraffe bucked him off right into the corner of my open dresser drawer. My poor baby.

Camping / Cows

Time to bring the cows home.  Came up the night before to stay in "the little house in the big woods" Axel's never been up and I hadn't seen all the cute improvements, windows, curtains, loft, beds, stove... Cozy Cottage.

The next day I opted to stay at the cabin. Most of the kids eventually joined.  They spent the morning building a fort nearby.  Historically what is one of the coldest, drug out days of the year  accompanied by a few blow ups, break downs and cuss'n;... this time was rather pleasant.  Warm enough to shed our jackets we were done by a reasonable lunch time.  And between all of us we only blew 5 tires com'n or go'n but that's a Kelly Cattle Caravan for ya.
