Remember December

What a Crazy month!!!   After being gone for so long it took a while to get moved in and back into the swing of things in Idaho.   But with home improvements, family get togethers, Christmas, New Babies, New Teeth, and New Years----December was anything but boring.

My bag of beans got wet and the bottom ones got moldy. Preston was kind enough to help sort through nearly 3 lbs.
Replacing Marc and Pam's Plumbing

The Kelly's dog Sammy got cut chasing cows and needed sewn up.  Cool thing about small towns is I got to watch the surgery.
Katana loved watching out for her 4 puppies while she was out.

Katana Got Her 6 month Pictures and we snapped a few family ones also.  I was excited to do my first Christmas card and brag letter...
it ended up being more like a new years letter since I didn't get them out on time.

We have had an uncommonly warm / late/ and dry winter.
(Idaho terms for low teens/ usually snows in October/ no drifts.)
We did get a few inches in time for Christmas but it didn't stay long.

The end of December was filled with Christmas parties and Hanging out with Family...or in Katana's case just Hang'n.
Christmas was great.  I loved watching my baby eat the paper.  It was her favorite toy.  She likes the Crinkling sound.  She also got a few noise maker toys--we may regret those purchases.

Though I don't have pictures of them my favorite gifts were A video camera complete with tripod, case, and editing program--  and a Victorio strainer.  Preston got a remote control helicopter he's learning to fly and a camel pack.  He thinks it's fun sucking out of it. At least I know he's drinking enough water.

We missed being away from the Kelly's.  It's nice having family so close.
and Just 3 months apart Katana and Kylin are getting to be best buds.

Poor Malena is so tiny and was so huge she was on bed-rest the last few weeks of pregnancy but then on December 26th Malena and Dan went in to have their babies.
Dallin Marcus 3 lbs 13oz
Weston Kilner 7lbs 3oz
Dallin was small and had to be in NICU for a while. He's a fighter and within the week was able to hold his temperature, nurse and was able to go home.

"All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth"
They both popped threw the week of her 6 month mark.

After so much celebrating we were all tuckered out.   2011 has been a full year.  We appreciate all the love and support from family and friends. We could not have made it without you.
SO into the new year we Delve
Guns a Blazin in there Glory
I'll continue to blog all 2012
to tell this Kelly Klan story.

Thanksgiving

Preston wasn’t sure the Job would get done in time for Thanksgiving so he decided to send me and Katana early.  We flew out of Liberal Kansas as the only passengers on a 20 seater putt-putt plane.   In Denver we switched to a larger aircraft.  Katana was such a good traveler.  I think it helped that we left at 3 AM.

Mom met me in Salt Lake.  That night Syringa, Mom and I got tickets to watch my cousin Darren Cueva in a concert at BYU.  He is an Awesome Bass player.  Commissioned to play all over the world and in the movie score Spartacus

Every weekend in November my parents do the Dixie 6.
A series of  high school rodeos.   I got to sit in the Kubota with a front row seat.

I’m grateful I got to be with Mom and Dad for a few days alone.
I really missed them.  And Katana got a little time to bond.

We tried to prepare for thanksgiving ahead of time…

But once people started showing up it was just time to enjoy the MADNESS!!!
Volleyball, Football, Horse walker, Helicopter Rides (STEVE GILBERT You Rock!), Breaking Dawn, Cousins, Courting, Crafts & FAMILY!!!

Preston was very sneaky.  Wednesday 11/23 he called to say the job was done, he was on the road and he'd see me soon.   Less then an hour later he pulls into the yard.  I was outside at the time--saw him--started screaming and crying.  It was a wonderful surprise.

And speaking of surprises... McCarty brought a "friend" home.  Brenden Hatfield.  We did our darndest to run him off but apparently he really likes her.

We all had a marvelous time.  There was plenty of FOOD, FUN, and FAMILY.  We are all Very blessed to have Jobs, Healthy bodies, and of course the Gospel.  I look forward to the next holiday... Christmas... where we can celebrate the Savoir's birth and be thankful for all he has given us.

Holiday in the OK

For the first time in 3 months Preston got a planned day off.  So we went to Liberal Kansas-- the next biggest town about 45 min.  It is the supposed Home of Dorothy of OZ.

This old Birthing table and OB tools really made me grateful for modern comforts and technology.

Next event was Preston’s 25th B-day.
JMS took us to dinner then I made Better than Sex Kisses Cake for everyone.

Later that week we took a ride on the mini-train that goes around the park.

Then….

We've really enjoyed traveling around.   We’ve made some good friends.  Warren Wing eats with us almost every night.   He and Preston are the only LDS guys on our project.    He has a wife and 5 kids in Boise and just can’t get enough of Katana and the whole family feel.     We like having a “clean mouthed” comrade.
The routine is --after a long day of work and play --We eat--watch an episode of something--- and go to sleep

Next Stop Thanksgiving!!!!
