FALL

I Love this time of year. The Holidays are coming. The Leaves are changing colors.  There is a crisp freshness to the air.  You can almost smell pumpkin pie, pine and cinnamon sticks in cider.  I LOVE FALL.

Because of the baby blessing we celebrated Preston's birthday the Saturday before.  I just didn't blog till now.  He wanted an R2D2 cake.  I got a mold this summer at a yard sale. I had to goggle the color pattern and it took me like an hour but he got his Star Wars cake. I may revise the "any cake you want" to "any FLAVOR of cake you want."
Funny story: Preston was drinking his milk and found flouties in it.  "Its not gone bad? Did it separate?"  The he poured some more and a lump came out.  He fished it out of his glass and found a paper towel.   Yuck!  Now the rest of the story.  When the gallon of milk is almost gone Katana  likes to pour her milk herself.  At breakfast that morning I was taking care of Axel and she wanted another bowl of cereal--Which she got herself.  I didn't know it at the time but put the pieces together after we found the rag.  She probably spilled a little milk--climbed on the table to get a paper towel--cleaned up the milk and put it back in the jug.  We love her

FHE in October is so easy. Preston surprised us one day with the biggest pumpkin I have ever seen.  It was easily 50 LBS. Katana could actually fit inside it. I was amazed at the difference in pulp, and seed size.  Katana was so excited. "Dada face.  Nana face"

Got the kids PJs for Halloween. Katana's skeleton glows in the dark. And Axel's Pj's print is the only way I like candy corn.  In college I made these macabe face masks of Preston and I.  Finally in a place to use them as our candy dishes. Inspired by Big Nose George.

Katana has a chest of dress up clothes.  The weeks leading to Halloween whenever we'd go to town I'd let her dress up.  She's so stinking cute.  Watched a few Princess movies.  Amazing how Romance is already so ingrained in little girls. True Loves Kiss.

For Holloween Katana was a Spider.  Her Dad was the Web.  Axel was a puppy.  I wasn't going to dress up cuz I didn't really have a costume and I was just going to sit and pass out candy anyway.  Then Preston mentioned I could be a Bitch-- he was actually on to something.  I went as a female dog.

Axel's Blessing

Axel Holden Kelly was blessed by his father Preston Reed Kelly. In the circle with him was; Calvin, Greg, Brenden, Marc, JD, Dan, Carson, Mike, Dave, and Guy. Thank you Grandma Pam for making his cute blessing tux.  And thanks to all our family and friends for all the love and support.  We blessed Axel then had to speak in our new ward. Not sure if it was easier or more intimidating talking with people I knew there. Had a luncheon after at our house. Ha ha I love saying that...our house.

Bike, Bing, Blessed

The first full week in our new house and it's AWESOME!!!  We love love love it.  First a few funny stories.
#1 We've never had a permanent place to get mail so stuff was still going to Jerome, firth, and Moore. Pam sent her practice paper from some documents she signed on our behalf.  I just thought it was funny.
#2 It had been a long week of unpacking. I hadn't been outside except to pack boxes from the garage. I decided we needed a break and to take a bike ride. First I spent 20 min. getting the kids ready.  Then the bike tire was flat. Never changed a tire before. And I was replacing it with a solid rubber tube--super hard. Took me an hour, bent a good kitchen knife, swore a few times but Finally got it.  Took a lovely 10 min. bike ride (not sure my body was ready for so much exercise).  Spend 15 min. getting everyone in and bundled then lay on the couch and tried to recover the rest of the day.  Oh yeah it was totally worth it.
#3 Katana is so smart and observant. She has started nursing her babies with me.  Sweet.  Then the other day Axel starts crying and wont take the binki Kanata tries to give him.  She runs over to me and yells "Just put a boob in it already!" I immediately glare at Preston who can't decide whether to look ashamed or proud.

It took two weeks to get settled but it's starting to look and feel like home.  I actually got everyone dressed and we made a big dinner.  Katana's hair had grown since i'd actually done it and I braided it for the first time. ohhhh.

Syringa and Denali came to visit on their way to Mom's.  Katana was so stinking excited to have someone to play with.  Denali on the other hand was a little freaked out.  Katana never gave up and after a few hours he gave in and went and played.

Oh man life is so awesome right now.  It's been a hard year and i'm so happy to be in my own home.  scrubbing my own toilets.  Axel is here--Healthy and Happy.  Katana is potty trained -ITS SO NICE. Preston has a job that's not construction--steady. I love my family, my house, I am so blessed.

Worms and Babies

The furnace in Firth went out so Preston had to make a run to I.F.  He dropped us off in Arco for a weekend with Grandma and Grandpa.  Lane was also visiting and boy did He and Katana have fun.  The first day they helped harvest the garden.  After helping Grandpa dig up the potatoes they spent a good 30 min. finding worms to feed to the chickens.  The next day they ran around the house racing horses and shooting bandits.   Thanks to Lane Katana now has a gun fetish   She shoots you if you don't do what she wants you to do, "boom boom".

We stopped on our way home at Dan and Malena's to see our new niece. Clara Kelly! 8 lbs 6 oz 20 in Born October 2, 2013 at 7:23 am.  She's so cute!

Moving out & in

WE GOT OUR HOUSE AND WE'RE FINALLY MOVING!!!!!  YEAH.  A big thanks to our awesome Realtor Aaron Walker.  He never gave up,  showed us every house in the Magic Valley and finally secured us our dream home. He even ran around signing papers for us while his wife was in labor.  Now That's dedication.  Plus he got us this awesome house warming gift.  I sold Cutco for a summer so I know the value of this "sandwich making machine with 3 cutting edges, scraper made of surgical stainless steel with a 3 rivet  full tang handle"

With all the excitement I didn't get many pictures.  A big thanks to JD and Family, Marc, Pam, Calvin and Dixie for helping us clean and move out of the Leavitts-- then clean and move in our house.  I like the sound of that.  The kids were great, and for the most part entertained themselves so we could work. It took 2 stock trailers  2 flat beds and a few car loads to move us.  We had stuff strung from Firth, to Arco, to Jerome.  We finally have room to store all our stuff and it's awesome.

The first night in our new home was wonderful.  Even with boxes everywhere--wearing the same set of clothes for the past 2 days, and not having dishware.  Dinner tasted sweeter, the bathwater felt warmer and we all slept deeper than we have in weeks.

We still have a lot of work to do "things need fix'n --the walnuts need pick'n and some pine trees need cut'n down."  I'm so excited to be scrubbing MY toilets  sweeping MY floors.   Yes we are the very proud owners and occupants of our home in Wendell.  WELCOME HOME KELLY KLAN
