April --After

Kylin's baptism date landed 2 days after I had Zara.  For obvious reasons I couldn't go.  We sent our kids with Pam after they saw the baby in the hospital then Preston drove over Saturday to support Kylin and pick them up.

The Kids got home Sunday to a new baby. We are all totally, completely and irrevocably  in love. Timbers family came through the next week and took the kids to Grandview for Easter. It was nice to have so much alone time to get acclimated to a new baby.  She was sleeping 5 hour stretches by the end of April.  She never cry's , or spits up.   She's the best baby ever.  There was a slight learning curve with nursing though.  She loves her tongue and it kept getting in the way of a good latch.  Also we had a new doctor that was a little by the book in regards to her billi levels.  She was 18 at her 2 day appointment.  He freaked out.  I argued to take her home with a light instead of being admitted.   Thankfully it was a jacket not a bed so we were able to hold her the whole time.  It wasn't so bad.   I refused to get her poked every day.  In a two week span they still drew 4 times.  2 days after my milk came in she was down to a 12.  Surprise Surprise.  My cute little Glowworm .

April --During

I was scheduled to be induced at 5 Am on the 10th.  We got to the hospital in the dark. After 2 hours of  routine check in stuff and waiting around to break my water we were told we had to go home. Labor and deliver was hit by a flood of patients in the night.  Some were emergency c-sections. (one we found out later was the Hurst's a friend of ours who was due in June but again came early. All was well. )  Since I was an elective induction I was the first to go.  It was an  awful, gut sinking feeling. Horribly disappointed I cried the whole way home.
Chick days at Valley Country was on.  Preston took the kids to Jerome at 9:30 just after the truck came in.  By the time they arrived they were sold out.  I called 4 other stores.  Buhl had 25 left. Dad was coming through  Filer when I called. He stopped and got the last 12. Miracle.
About 2 we got a blessed phone call "hey do you want to have a baby today?"   Yes Please!! Back at the hospital for round 2.   Marc and Pam watched the kids at home.  Preston was my birthing buddy, Dad was my cameraman and as it got closer Mom and Mccarty my support groupies on Skype in Vegas.    Dr. Colman came in about 4 to break my water; felt a tiny hand and stopped.   "She wants to give me a handshake.  Her hand is on her head.  If I break your water it could shoot up first and then it would be an emergency c-section."   Pit and lots of waiting for the next 8 hours. Uggg.  Preston "You wanted it to last so enjoy it Dear it's your last one."   Dad snuck me M&M's and Preston spooned me ice chips.   They were  awesome.  Around 1:25 the nurse came to change my bedding and said  "oh I think we need to get ready."   I pushed for all of 12 minutes before she was born.  It would have been less but the Doctor was not in the room and the nurse held her in and told me not to push... "Please I don't want all the paper work."  She was smaller than my others with a smaller head.  I actually had to push her shoulders out. Dad tried to take a video but was caught just as she was crowing. Oh well in this case pictures say more than a thousand words. And I actually got to cut my own cord. My hands were shaking and I was weak.  It felt thick and rubbery. Took 2 snips.  Such a cool experience.
