1st week of October our neighbors hired the kids to do chores while they went on vacation for a week. Super easy chicken, dog, cat chores that took 10 minutes tops. Of course we were there for like 30 minutes every night playing with their cute animals. Bonus we got to keep the eggs and with prices so high that was payment enough. Although they did end up paying them also which was unexpected and super generous. This spring Preston did a service change job for JoAnn Hoover in Moore. He did it for materials. How do you put a price on childhood memories of someone? He got a sweet note and a box of chocolates. Hes been hording the candy but I found the note. 15th Preston got another potentially cancerous mole removed. I took all the kids to the free clinic to get tested. Mace has one they measured to watch. Good to know. Fall is my favorite season. It has been unseasonably warm. I'm loving it. After weeks of practice and exercise I finally got a true stomach vacuum. It's a cool concept of strengthening the inner core muscles that hold your insides in. Like Kegel exercises but for your abdominal wall. 23rd Preston and Katana did a daddy daughter pie party for Young women. 25th in Arco for Jamie's Baby Shower. Malena is a master at decorating and artsy cutesy stuff. 27th For Preston's birthday the Kellys came and took us all to dinner and he got cake. I guess its the age. That's really all we did. Zara is doing so good at school. She was already reading so it's more “fun review” for her. She won red cape runner this month. That's always a big deal. She also lost another tooth. She's developing a cute “lisp” because of the gap.
I volunteered for Zara's Halloween party at school. Her teacher Mrs Taber was really ambitious to make slime with the kids. After school I picked the other kids up and we hung out in town until the community trunk or treat started. I actually thought about my trunk this year. A cauldron, net, spiderweb and skeletons all around it. We had a table with potion bottles and had a dice roll game. “Dare to Make a Deal with the Devil.” You had to roll a dice and that determined your prize. 1-5. were different little trinkets (stickers, glow in the dark duck, Pencil, wristband, ring.) 6 you had to ROAR to re-roll. As the night wore on more numbers were dead. It was funny some kids wouldn't roar. If they were little I gave them something anyway. The older kids walked away empty handed. Oh well. We ended up wining 2nd place woot! woot! I actually really like dressing up. I was the devil. I felt pretty bad A with my nose ring and eyeliner. Preston didn't even try to participate this year. Zara was a black kitty. She was very particular needing claws, ears and a tail. The tail needed to move when she walked and curl. We couldn't just do gloves. We had to have claws. We couldn't just put on long nails cuz we had to be ALL black. We took a pair of black gloves and painted fake finger nails black then glued them to the tips of the gloves. She was happy in the end. Mace ( found his costume like back in July at a yard sale) was excited to be a swash buckling pirate. “Like Jack Sparrow only real and way more handsome” (I do kind of think eye makeup on guys is sexy. It makes me think of pirates or vampires or bad boy bikers.) Axel playing off Mace's look was a zombie pirate. Katana was a mystical blue mermaid. We had fun and got lots of candy. Even me thanks to the “Mom Tax”. Two pieces of my choice for hauling you around. “your welcome”
