Crafts & Construction

Pintrest helped us get crafty with our crayons. Melting like colors down to make bigger/thicker crayons.  getting the paper off was a pain in the butt but it was worth it in the end. it took a few seconds for Little Miss Sunshine to warm to the idea of taking broken ones and creating new ones...they are actually much easier to handle.
Speaking of sunshine Katana learned the song
"you are my sunshine" (shun-shine) and it's super adorable.

Rhett turned 2.  We had a party with a farm yard cake, cousin time and then went swimming at miracle hot springs, then back to Brooks for a late night game night.

I love auctions, yard sales, storage wars, bargain hunter am I.  Our latest fix was a Masters Auction in Gooding. Got this Truck load for less then $100. Got big screen , 3 couches, 2 end tables, coffee table, computer desk, changing table, head board, twin bed, rocker, bike attachments, stools, several paintings. and miscellaneous boxes.  Here's the fun part kicker was we didn't have any tie downs or straps. had to drive 5 miles across town VERY CAREFULLY  and spent another $100 to get it home properly secure.

Kids are good at destruction of house and property and MY NERVES.  They also like to help with construction especially when it involves getting to go in the crawl space or attic. baths are mandatory after that. recently they have enjoyed Showers. I love the faces. They drive me crazy but I love my kiddos.

Finished Looks So Good

Construction on Phase One was completed last year but we didn't get around to paint before the holidays. With a nice 3 day weekend we did.   The colors we agreed on aren't for everyone. As my father-in-law said "Sierra it's very you."  I love it and Finished  looks so Good.

Blessings Disguised as Snowmen

Preston got an impromptu 3 days off work. (suspension) We thought it was a huge set back but really it was a blessing. For one thing we got a lot done on the house. Second it was the first snow and he was able to go sledding and build snowmen with us. It was a good break / reset. Got us thinking of  other options for the future. Mostly we just enjoyed being together.

Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

Pictures say a 1000 words---in my case it was mostly I couldn't verbalize more than a moan. NOT the good kind but the Oh no no no no no ohhhhhh. lets just say the year was off to a rough start. It was like a whole week of something new every day Finally I said. "I Quit !!" After partying hard for the holidays my house was Poof. Garbage and groceries and clothes Oh My. Katana discovered paint, my makeup drawer and the sewing scissors--Axel is screaming as Katana chased him down the hall yelling HOLD STILL DANG IT. She got the side of his head and her bangs. When I called Mom she lovingly reminded me of a certain daughter, scissors and picture day 1993. "but mommy I cleaned up my mess"

My Axel.   Pretty sure he's still alive cuz he's so darn cute. My strong boy helped restock the T.P. in the bathrooms. Then unrolled one and threw a second one in the toilet.  Yes I did try to pull it out and dry it. He knows where everything is. even the Gel.  I wasn't mad about his hair it was Adorable.  the cabinet, floor and his clothes however....   Axel learned to peel hard boil eggs.  Unfortunately he can peal raw eggs too. We apparently need to mark them differently. Even after all this I still Love these little rug rats.  As JD says "you're just living your dream."

Happy Happy New Year

We are trying really hard this year to be more sociable. Our first act was New Years game night. I invited a couple over for dinner and games and they had to bring one other couple. It was actually really fun. they all had kids around the same age.  the older kids actually made it till midnight. Katana on down started falling asleep in the middle of it all. Chairs, Hallway, Under the Table.

Company Christmas Party sort of doubled as our anniversary dinner. We don't get a Christmas bonus just an open bar (kind of a rip off for us who don't get sauced.) We didn't win the raffle bummer but we did swipe some cool decorations and balloon bundles for the kids. Their reaction made it all worth it. Katana wanted to go outside and fly. We  settled on a few Airplane rides. We also went to the  temple in Boise (ours getting cleaned) the next night and the $5 movie (The Maze Runner).  6 Years - 5 pets - 4 vehicles - 3 couches - 2 kids - and 1 amazing Preston.
