Still on a High July

Katana won $25 for her Patriotic Essay. Axel and Zara rode bikes in the Parade. I took a can of red spray paint and upcycled Katanas old purple bike like 10 minuets before it started. Bless Robin Hope for walking behind the Primary and push-starting Zara every now and then. She only started riding her peddle bike last month.  Mace choose to ride the stake primary float. Probably the smartest one. It was very HOT.!  Katana walked with the drama club kids in costume. I ran over and sat with McCarty and the extended Hatfield family who were having a Hatfield reunion and came into town for the parade. We played at the park afterward killing time before the festivities at the high school started. Two bounce houses, train ride, live music, balloon art, and a really nice fire works display. 

Mace was a trooper getting his tonsils and adenoids out.  They were classified as big 4 and had calcification stones. We set alarms for medicine.  He was excited for all-you-can-eat ice-cream, popsicles, and fudge pops. Food is very important to this kid. I was the one saying.  NO carrots on day 2 and NO potato chips day 3. By day 5 I gave up and called him healed.  We cut down the pine tree by the driveway.  It really opens up my front door. Kids and I spent the next 2 weeks harvesting firewood from the branches and trunk then burning the boughs and twigs. We found more than one nest.  Everyone got at least one robin egg souvenir. Got the fences moved for the new second driveway. I love seeing improvements. Katana's first girls camp was epic.  She got a chunk of wood jammed under her toenail. It died and we had to cut half her nail off so it didn't snag and rip the rest off.  We ended the month with a huge yard sale since we didn't get around to it last year.   Dimond had another colt named Caramel.  Boys activity days had a bike rodeo.  Mace had lots of positive peer pressure to ride his bike without his training wheels.  By the end of the day he was proficient.  A few weeks later the stake had a pioneer celebration with a bike rodeo at the fairgrounds. He rocked it.  Katana gave her first talk in Sacrament meeting.  Preston joked she took longer than I did. Between the two of us we left Preston with a good 30 min. He filled them nicely.  He's a natural.
