Give Thanks

Huge thanks to McCarty who spearheaded the idea to get together for Thanksgiving. We rented a house that was roughly halfway for everyone in Enterprise Utah. It was perfect. There was a big cement pad for scooters and kids to play.  Plenty of beds for everyone. It was 3 days of food and togetherness.  We trickled in starting Wednesday.  Trujillo's family made it for Thanksgiving dinner and game night.  We met up in St. George the next afternoon for swimming at the rec center. Toss up for the favorite activity: water slide or climbing wall.   Saturday we found keys to the church gym.  Timber is teaching P.E. dance class so she was ready when Mace asked her to teach us a line dance.  We did Virginia Reel, Oh Johnny Oh, Patty Cake Polka, Bunny Hop, Hokey Pokey and more. It was a blast. We were only missing two.   Ralayna who is on a mission in Washington.   She's learning working hard is hard work. Dealing with people is emotional and physical.  Her service is blessing us all.   Denim Blue is living her best life in Hawaii.  Everyone is jealous of her surroundings. She studies on the beach and is getting a killer tan.  Everything from dress code, to curfew is much more lax at the BYU in the paradise of the pacific.  She somehow still stays focused on her studies in computer science. She is also pursuing a side gig as a model.  She got with the company PMTM while in New Mexico and has been slowly building her portfolio.  Timber met her in New York for one. There were a few photo shoots we razzed her about. Made for some hilarious photobombs.  I sure do love this crazy family.

NO- nail vember

November went so fast I hardly know where to start. I got a new sectional and needed to upgrade my curtains to match. I feel so fancy. Mom and Dad sent the kids postcards from their 12 day cruise to the Panama Canal and week in Florida. Preston has suffered from ingrown toenails his whole life. This last one got so painful he finally opted to get it surgically removed. Yes the whole thing. It was extremely fascinating. He almost past out. As he describes it "the doctor takes a flat head screwdriver and shoves it under the nail and pries it up. Then takes a pair of needle nose pliers and pulls it out. Then he takes a tiny melon baller and puts acid on the nail bed to kill it. Wraps it in vet wrap and off I go." Zara and I got our haircut in preparation for thanksgiving. She was so cute. Sat so still. All the girls at the hair school loved her. It was just in time for her solo primary talk. 

The drama club tried to put on Charlie Brown Christmas play but couldn't get licensing. It was supposed to be a fundraiser for the families affected by the crash. They ended up doing a Peanuts parody written by their director Valeen Henderson. Mace really wanted to do basketball or "Quidditch mixed with Rugby" as Preston called it. It was only 4 practices and 4 games and all in Wendell so I let him. He was honestly the best player on his team. He scored 90% of the shots each game. He worked on passing and using his team. Mace did the Virginia reel , sang songs and memorized 2 fall poems for his Thanksgiving concert. We got pie after. Dan took Preston with him to Boise to pick up his new limo. We got a ride on his way home. *finishing the book of mormon I noticed a picture that reminded me of the famous picture of Noah. I looked it up and sure enough someone cheated on the art test. lol.
