Febu-where'dit'go

I got a little behind in my blogging and it came to bite me in the butt when I accidentally deleted all my pictures off my camera.  Thankfully I was able to get snapshots off my video camera and read entries from my journal to help me remember what had happened. Sorry the picture quality isn’t that good  oh well.

2/11 Went to Dan and Malena’s to help them finish their attic.  Well the guys helped --we girls got to gossip and play with the babies. What fun!

2/14 Grandma Afton sent Katana a card with a dollar for a lollipop but she eats the paper stick better then the sucker so I got her a mango instead.  They are her favorite.  She’s content for like an hour gnawing on the core. Around noon Preston drove me to Logan, I met up with Cart who drove Katana and I to Salt Lake- to met up with Trujillo-who drove us to Spanish fork-to get syringa -so we could all drive down to Southern Utah together.  Got to love carpool.  It was actually really fun and the trip went fast as we talked and laughed at each other.   Syringa big pregnant and woosey, cart all twitterpatted, and Trujillo catching air driving over medians in the road.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been with my siblings squished in a car like that.   Good times.

2/15 Brittany Stansfield Nez adopted a baby--Baylee Alilea.  They have been trying to have one for a while now.  In the Native American culture the tribe get the last say on adaption parents.  Since her husband Shaun is Navajo, they have the right blood.   Baylee's  middle name (which no one can pronounce) is Navajo for Miracle… which hearing the story of how they got her is very appropriate.

My weekend trip to Utah was actually for a funeral. A Celebration for the life of Lois Perkins Urie Woodbury AKA Grandma bubbles.  It’s been coming so it wasn’t a sad parting but we’ll sure miss her spitfire personality and honest advice.  Steve Gilbert’s final farewell was perfect as he sang a rendition of her favorite birthday song  “your clothes are all worn, your rent is past due, to hell with the world dear, happy journey to you."

2/16 everyone else had work, school or Brenden to get back to.   I got to stay a few days with Mom and Dad.  It was great.  They have this awesome bouncy horse. Katana couldn’t get enough of it. If she could talk she’d say “more more” course her Mom was saying that anyway.

2/18  Came to Logan with Mom and Dad yesterday. We went to Gossner's cheese factory and went to see their study cows.  They have a hole into their stomachs so people can study the contents.  We brought the horse trailer and all of Carts junk.  They call their little apartment the “Bungalow” but it should be the newlywed suite as it’s so cute.   Today she got her endowments out.  Very special moment.  As my little sister it was neat to see her in the temple.  Good job Sis you made it.
week of the 19th Back home Katana is growing so big.  Grandma Dixie got her this boa head dress for Christmas.  I just love it.  The comments at church are the best. “WOW she always has such ‘fun’ outfits”   “what a fashion queen”  She can crawl really well.  She’s so fast.  Our new game is to crawl into the next room and wait for her to come find us then jump out and say BOO then crawl away.   She wants to pull herself up.  We find her standing in her crib waiting for us every morning.  She is good with a cup and can suck things as thick as a banana shake through a straw.  She also loves to blow bubbles in water.   We made salsa and canned tomatoes we got from bountiful basket.  They were huge and yummy.

2/23    We couldn't start setting up for the reception still after 7pm.  It was a fun girls night.  Denim was such a good helper.  I think she was in awe of it all, dreaming up her big day.  Leona Hatch is so creative.  Somehow she made Carts crazy colors Purple, yellow, blue work so cute.

2/24 McCarty is now Mrs. John Brenden Hatfield.  Weird!  The ceremony was beautifully simple & simply beautiful.  Cart looked so grown up—When did that happen?
The chocolate fountains were a definite hit.  I should have got a picture of the kids (really all of us) with their chocolate mustaches and dribbles down their shirts.    The kids went all out decorating their truck. In the one picture I'm not sure if Darlin is licking the cookie to put it on the car or if she just got it off to eat it . Because Brenden's brother is on a mission so they made a life-size cut out of him.  Cool but somewhat Creepy.  I love carts choice of Vail and Cake knife.  CART YOUR AWESOME! GOOD LUCK SIS

2/25 The motel was awesome and opened the pool early and let us check out late so we could play some more. With 2 serf boards, 3 squirt guns, a baby raft, 6 Nefs, 6 Amys , 5 Mcphauls and 2 Kellys the hot tub got pretty crowded.  Katana loves the water and would kick- kick- kick to “swim”.

2/26 We all got sick after our busy weekend.  My Sore throat had me afraid to swallow.  Poor Katana got an ear infection, cough, and runny nose.  BUT HEY IT’S ALL GOOD!
