My kiddos are getting so big and strong. Katana is starting to be helpful. Especially with Axel cuz they can play together. With summer comes hot new hair styles, horse trough swimming pools, crop dusters (they get so close I swear I could jump off the roof and catch the landing gear), mowing the lawn (aka. Bon Bon the horse), eating fresh from the garden. We take our little basket out and pick stuff for dinner. Been eating peas, radishes, beets, 3 strawberries, chard, and spinach. I hate weeds! Well maybe not dandelions as i read they are edible and super healthy. I've made dandelion cookies, fried dandelions and dandelion syrup. Preston says "healthy does not mean good." It was fun try and I said "In the 2nd coming at least I'll know I can make a mean weed stew."
Started milking my goat and found we don't like it. I love to milk her but only Axel can stand to drink it. (actually better for him. no tummy aches or spit ups....fantastic but stinky pee. ) So I tried Cheese. That was fun but again we're a straight Cheddar kind of family.Cooking with it sort of works. My bread didn't rise as well. bummer. still had fun making a mess. Finally Goat milk ice-cream was yummy but it's 3 parts goat milk to 1 part cow cream so kind of cheating.
Went to church with Aunt Tina because Uncle Delwin is a Lay Minister (like a substitute) and was speaking in Gooding. It was insightful to visit another church service. During the Children message (like a 5 min. primary lesson) they asked what is a missionary? A little boy said "it's like a spy" So we need to be better spy's for the Lord. AKA member missionaries! And they have a mingling period. I need to be better with the whole meet and greet thing. We run in just before church starts hopping to snag a side bench in the back and run out hoping we don't strangle our kids in public. I also really enjoyed the upbeat music. They have a band! Delwin's message was on how Christ is in every part of our lives. Not just church. Not just Sunday. Not just some people. It strengthened my testimony about how lucky we are to have the spirit able to stay with us all the time. Not just at church. Not just on Sunday. I was really proud of him and glad they invited us.
