Back to school photos from my nieces and nephews are so full of excitement and energy. This will be Katana next fall. I'm going to cherish one last year with her at home.
Preston and I took a date night to Jackpot NV. Seeing as we are only an hour from the boarder town. Plus it's on my bucket list to play the slots. The old fashion pull kind you put the nickle in and hear your winnings clink out. Cuz seriously what is the fun of pushing a button and getting electronic credit? Took 4 casinos to find them. Funnest $5 I've spent in a long time. Then dinner--hit crab leg buffet for $15--lets just say I got my money worth. Watched a Texas Hold'm tournament for a while and the poker tables. Preston and I were too poor and sober to actually play anything but the penny slots but just watching was fascinating. One old lady spent $15 min. teaching us her favorite double train game while loosing her first $500. "Come every year. With my checks and my camper. Play till I'm broke then go to bed" Solid life strategy.
New mom advice. Buy chicken nuggets at Burger King. If only to get the stupid crown. Buy stock in band-aids. They make everything feel better. Katana hurt the inside of her mouth...Band-aid. Stepped on tack strip...band-aid's (plural) . Oh and toilet paper. It's a big thing to change the empty rolls. "Axel it's sisters turn. When this roll is gone then you can do it" 5 minutes later big smile "Mommy I help you change rolls". In his defense I should have specified a time frame for the next change as well. oh children. We love them don't we.
Syringa and family stopped on the way to Mom's. Took a sunlit evening stroll across Perrine Bridge to see the canyon. She couldn't even enjoy the view she was so nervous. The base jumper put her over the edge. The last 100 feet She's dragging Colvin muttering "Hug the wall-get off the bridge-don't look down." Baby Mace is 9 months old with 2 teeth and kissable cheeks.
