Syringa and kiddos came the Friday before we left to McCartys. This is that river trip:
Saturday we took them on a canoe trip to Pillar Falls. I really didn't think we would make it. Azalyn was screaming the whole time. Syringa kept saying "Shes going to cry anyway" but would never actually let Denali or Katana just hold on to her. This kept Syringa from rowing. Preston kept mouthing to me "we're done...no now" Somehow for some reason we kept going. Just to the bridge. Just to the next bend. Just 10 more strokes. The wind was with us and Preston held up a sheet like a sail. It actually worked a little. We made it to Skull Island for a pick nick lunch. Not sure who was more excited to be out of the boat. The water levels were low enough walking around was easy so long as you didn't fall on the jagged rocks. Coming home Preston really was done. He untied from between us and took Syringa and Az to shore then came back to help us finish. A lady who we had passed a few times before saw Preston coming back alone and asked "did you drown your wife and baby?" Preston kept paddling and replied "it wasn't my wife and baby" getting to me he was laughing. "I wonder what she thought cuz I didn't say I didn't" It will be one of those TIME=HUMOR memories.

The first week of August Timber and Kiddos came to visit. This is that river trip:
Everyone paddled. Even Ike and Tessa who at the beginning had most likely never even seen a canoe. We stopped a few times to swim but made Skull Island without much fuss. Lunch. Water levels still low made it a chore to pack the boats around the falls but with help: Doable. We continued on to Shoshone Falls. We parked on Mushroom rock to watch the falls and jump off rocks. Tessa was scared and it took some positive peer pressure but finally she said to Preston "Your just going to have to make me" He pulled her off with him the first time and then each kid solo jumped for about 30 min. Even little Mace went with me once. Back at Pillar both Mace and Holden sent "homemade logs" down the falls. :)
Home again home again jiggity jog.
Don't do it often....probably for the best. Kelly Emotions and all. Kelly reunion also a good time. 2nd year at Sportsman's Park in Aberdeen. Liz and her husband manage it so we get a family discount. 48 Hours- Fun water day. Ash flavored food. Long night around the campfire. Done. Perfect.
For Axel's birthday we went to the red park and splash pad in Twin. Zara loved the roller slide. Axel got a few Nerf bow and arrows. He shoots it across the house "Ha I'm a freak'n warrior." We had a Bob Ross night. I was impressed at how creative and good we actually all did. Eliza got blessed Sunday 24th. Man those kids are growing up.
Random Pics Explained
*dirty wash water. #1-washer broke used parts from old ones to fix it. Preston Manly Crafty. #2 new fad of strip laundry. basically long soak takes out the deep dirt in clothes. Gross
*School starts. Timber gone for school pics. Why a Mom is important. The comparison is hilarious.
* schedules worked out I was able to make Ralayna's track meet. so fun to cheer her on. YOU GO GIRL!
* my old Volleyball shoes/ Tennis shoes finally gave up the ghost. The hot glue, staples, and denim patches just couldn't keep up anymore. Preston said it was time.
*Twin falls clothing swap. Epic. All clean and gently used. Basketball court full of shoes. A football field of clothes separated into sizes. newborn-3XL. ALL FREE. A few months ago I donated a bag and got a ticket. First 100 tickets got in at 10. The rest got in at Noon. At 3 it was open to the public. Leftovers to DI and shelters.
*Mask mandates and flu fear heat up. I say if i'm forced to wear a mask at least i'll look fabulous. Darlin "Aunt Syringa which mask matches my outfit better." yes it's a thing.
