I know it's only September but using some of my Odyssey Empowering Parents grant money I have Christmas 90% done. Opening the package from Rainbow Resources felt like Christmas. Zara wakes up one day "Mom it's time I want my blond hair back." Red to white not as easy as you'd think. A week of crushed vitamin C tablets and baking soda, lemon juice and vinegar and a box of splat bleach.....It's an Off-blond but her hair didn't fall out and she matches her barbie now so Win Win. Canned the last of our peaches. Zara found one that had fallen in the grass. "Hey this one is growing ladybugs."
Labor Day weekend we met up with JD's family and Brooke for an adventure. We visited dead horse cave and Tea Kettle cave. These neat attractions so close and we've never gone before. Tea Kettle reminds me of some prehistoric cave. A perfect post apocalyptic haven we could grow food in. A big sign did say how very special the "Ferns" were. We tried not to tread on them. After JD showed us it was safe to rappel we couldn't wait to try. Katana was a natural. Axel went like 6 times. He got super confident to go upside down. Mace went tandem with JD first then side by side with Preston. At the drop he was nervous "Dad help!" Preston's only real option at that point was to pull his foot off the ledge. I'll admit the last step was a little disconcerting. My "No fear" Zara wanted to go. She went tandem with Preston. The whole time my heart was in my chest.
Micah Jessup had a birthday party. Pinata, candy, friends and cake--What's better. Then there was a block party in town. El Tapatio Restaurant Celebrating 25 yrs and Video Centros 30th. They had free tacos, hamburgers and hotdogs, cupcakes, cotton candy, soda and a bull riding machine. Plus lots of loud mexican music. It made for a huge turnout and good sense of community. Finally talked myself into getting Lasik. Preston and I drove down to Salt Lake the day before. We were in and out of exams for 3 hours but the actual procedure took about 15 min. Two days later Katana and I were at Ladies Night at Jerome Rec center. Lula, leather, bows, and Katana made slime. We didn't sell much but that wasn't the purpose. Homecoming dress up week is always a fun one. Old person day-- Katana comes out with this really cute outfit "Honey your suppose to dress like a Grandma!" "I know I think Grandma would like this" I'm laughing thinking of 30 yrs in the future when "old person day" is dressing in distressed jeans, abercrombie tee, structured blazer and fridge top boots. We got 2 new horses. A mare- smoke and a gelding Ice. Our stud does not like him. They got in a huge fight and Ice got his chest ripped open. I was able to sew him up. His skin is harder than you'd think. I had to use pliers to pull it threw. I actually love that kind of stuff.
Abe split his chin open. Apparently there is an under chin club. Zara, Jade, Az, and Syringa share a matching scar. He totally lucked out on his P.A. :) THE Corbin Allred. That set off a photo text bomb. Nef siblings, Grandma Lola, Elder Gram, Luis Mario, Chad, Grandma Zella. AWE memories. Timber surprised us at Acacia's baby blessing. We also got to see Addie's new baby. Talia Rayne was born 9/18/23 at 11:28 pm, 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 cm long.
