Juno- camps & birthday & circus

Did "Juno" that June is for the Roman god Juno who is over youth and protection?  We combatted the "one year older and wiser too" of Me and Katanas birthdays with some fun outings.  First was an end of year party at Mikes house. The hatfields were up so it was fun to visit with them there. Kids were determined to go camping more this summer. Preston was working the weekend of the ward campout so we weren't going to go.  The kids were so persuasive. "Mom we will help you set up the tent. We'll do everything." They set it up in the yard a few days before to prove they could.  So my birthday weekend had us hiking in the woods at Pinedell. The next week was 4 H camp. Zara got to spend some alone time with her grandparents.  It was Maces first year going to 4 H camp. There were a few wobbles but in the end it is a good learning experience.  Lane was a champion looking after and fighting for his younger cousins. I love the familial bond and good examples they have in each other.

Katana-nana is officially a teenager. Watch out!. She got a rock tumbler machine and a gem kit.  Kind of a spur of the moment activity to celebrate we went to the CIRCUS.  It was so HOT the whole time. Thankfully we had slushies at first and water in the van at halftime. I'm really glad we went. It was really cool.  I totally felt like a kid. Some of the high flyers were holding on by their hair!  The elephants balancing on little stools.  The buffalo riders.  Two motorcycles got in the cage together and held hands then went opposite each other. That was crazy.  It took a week but I finally finished my front walk area.   It has been a messy eye sore and now I love walking out my front door. Pam got me some flowers for my birthday that I made a raised bed for. Two galvanized tubs hold mint, basil, and chard. The toilet is brimming with succulent blooms.   Cut back the grass about a foot that had overgrown the sidewalk. It just looks so nice.  Grandma Dixie got us a snow cone machine for all our birthdays.  Paired with our new pool we have a  pretty awesome summer setup.
