Total Eclipse of the Heart.

The path of the Total Solar Eclipse passed right over Eastern Idaho.  We first went to Kelly's but decided to go over the pass to Clyde.  A group of NASA enthusiast hippy bunny humping tree huggers were having a get together at AMY Park.  It was a beauty weekend. We took a 4 wheeler ride up the mountain to the head spring that feeds the hydro.  It was the first time I had ever been up there and it was gorgeous.  A little Oasis.

Monday the rest of the Kellys come over.  We took 4 wheelers up a mountain to watch the Eclipse. I was under the impression it would go fairly quickly and I may not be able to watch while taking care of kids.  Thankfully  that was not the case.  It was several hours of watching the moon slowly cover the sun. The Bite--The Packman--The Cresent. Carson brought his Drone to fly down the valley.  We found a Lady bug nest.  Carefully exploring the ridge.  And of course lots of staring at the sky.  When totality hit all I can say was WOW.  It was an awesome cosmic phenomenon.  Genuine celestial beauty.  If you haven't seen totality you haven't seen an eclipse and you can't understand the majesty of it.  Seriously the coolest thing I've ever seen besides my own childs cresting head at birth.

The rest of the people at AMY Park gathered on a mountain near the park.  Their experience and reaction was much the same.  Everyone cheered and dancing around.  They hype and projections of people was highly over rated.  McCarty and Brenden bought ice and soda thinking to sell to the masses.  A few hundred extra was all we saw in this area.  Another one passes Texas in 7 years.  I'm totally there!
