Some September

Got new hair and a new motto. Syringa got a shirt. Cat on fire on his last leg saying "I'm fine. Its fine. Everything is fine." We all came home and ordered one. I'm still on a spinney dress kick. Zara is a good model. Spice had kittens on the girls bed. Katana was thrilled. "I always wanted cats on my bed". Really OK. Then a few weeks later we found 2 half dead kittens in the gutter before church. I really didn't think they'd live. Love conquers all. Cali and Nena (Ney-Na Finnish for Nose Preston calls her schnoz) A boxer showed up at our house. Kids called him Bowser. We had him for over a month. Just long enough to get a crate and collar. Then randomly he was gone. No idea if he ran away or got picked up. He was a good looking- super nice dog.

We finished canning pears. Ones off our tree took 6 hours for 7 jars and about 100 pears per jar as they were small or wormy or misshapen. Then we got a few from Northview Orchard in the canyon. They were big beautiful ones that fit maybe 3 per jar. Done in 20 min with the kids help. Ugg. Axel helped straightened out the fence on my garden. Cleaning up for next year. I've been trying to burn-dig-pull the old cherry tree root. P.I.T.B. pain-in-the-butt. Grandma Afton came over for her birthday. She had a dinner date with her kids and their spouses. Axel is her bed partner. They both sleep better with someone. "She smells like a grandma and I don't have bad dreams when I'm with her." Katana and Grandma Dixie made a cake. Mace is determined to grow out his hair so he can get whiplash flipping it out of his eyes. My kids sang My Heart Rejoices in the Lord for the adult session of stake conference. Sister Smith asked my kids personally to come since they knew it so well. It's such a beautiful song. I was so proud. Preston's coworker got married that same night. Divide and conquer.
