Early Christmas Gifts of new sleeping bags came just in time for our camping trip. At first we had planned to go to the little house in the hills but then Dan's family was going up Copper Basin and invited everyone who wanted to go. Location didn't really matter as long as it was out of cell range for a weekend. We got to Lake Creek late and didn't want to search the surrounding areas in the dark. So night one we camped solo. Preston bought Carson's little trailer and put a bed on top and a futon on bottom. With our cash cooker we have a perfect little camper. It was warm and cozy. Good thing too cuz we woke to snow!
Turns out we were 300 yards from Dan's family. easy find in the daylight. It was still cold so we all piled in the truck for a scenic drive. The bumpy off roads were no friend to my baby bladder. so 1/2 way Malena and the kids and I got out to explore the woods. Back at Dan and Malena's actual camper the kids watched a movie while waiting for everyone to arrive.
Once Grandma, Grandpa and Carson came there was enough motorized vehicles for us to take a ride. It was about a 5 mile trip up to the Lakes. We passed Round lake on our way to Long Lake. The sun started to make on appearance but it was still cold. Beautiful. Clean. Fresh. But cold.
Back at camp the boys enjoyed Archery and Shooting. The Women enjoyed the warm camper and gabbing. The kids were in long enough to thaw fingers and then back out to play. It was a wonderful weekend.
